U's chief calls for patience

Colchester United have reassured fans concerned at the exodus of players from Layer Road that manager Geraint Williams is close to completing a number of transfer deals of his own.
Richard Garcia joined last year's prolific strikeforce of Chris Iwelumo and Jamie Cureton in exiting the club when he joined Hull City on a free transfer earlier this week.
Assistant-manager Mick Harford has also left and joined fellow Championship side QPR.
However, U's chief executive Marie Partner has urged supporters not to be alarmed as Williams closes in on his summer transfer targets.
"We have been extremely proactive in the past couple of weeks and negotiations have been taking place daily," she told the club's official website.
"There have been many phone calls back and forth and we are confident that these will be coming to fruition during the course of this week and beyond."
