U's want Magnus compromise

Colchester United hope to avoid having to go to a tribunal to sort out a transfer fee for Magnus Okuonghae.

The 23-year-old has penned a two-year deal with the U's but the League One side have not been able to agree a fee with Dagenham & Redbridge for his services.

U's chairman Robbie Cowling told the Gazette: "We're still in talks with Dagenham and we're trying to resolve it.

"We've made them a revised offer which we've sent them and we're now awaiting their response. I don't think any team wants to go to a tribunal over the value of a player.

"But there's a good chance that we can come to an arrangement."
