Colchester United have snapped up Aston Villa striker Sam Williams on a three-month loan.
The 21-year-old has yet to feature for the first team at Villa Park, but has gained experience from previous loan stints with Brighton & Hove Albion and Wrexham.
U's boss Paul Lambert told the club's official website: "I think we needed an extra body up front what with Steven Gillespie's latest injury.
"Sam has been out on loan before and done well and, after he came back from injury, Villa have had a few calls about him going out again.
"We are fortunate to have him. He's young and enthusiastic and is hungry to do well. I think he will do great for us."
