Colchester United have strengthened their striking options by signing Hogan Ephraim on loan from West Ham United.

The 18-year-old has made one appearance for the Premiership side and will remain at Layer Road until January.

"We have an intensive period of matches coming up and Hogan will give the manager extra options during this time," U's chief executive Marie Partner told the club's official website.

"Ritchie Jones has proven to be a useful member of the squad during his own emergency loan period and we hope Hogan can provide a similar boost."
