Colchester United have agreed new contracts with Kevin Watson and John White. Experienced midfielder Watson and promising defender White have both agreed extensions despite their current deals still having time to run. Both players were integral parts of the side that secured a creditable tenth-placed finish in the Championship last season. "We are delighted that Kevin has opted to pen a new contract," U's chief executive Marie Partner told the club's official website. "He is one of the most experienced members of the playing staff here and we hope that his signature will encourage other senior members of the squad to follow his lead." Referring to White, she added: "He is a young and energetic player and we are delighted he has agreed terms. "I have every confidence he will come back even stronger next season."
