Colchester United manager Geraint Williams has kept his promise of bringing new players to Layer Road this summer by adding Danny Granville and Matthew Connolly to his squad.
Just a week ago doom and gloom was enveloping the club following the sales of three of last season's heroes - Chris Iwelumo, Jamie Cureton and Richard Garcia - but Williams has now signed six players in seven days.
Last week he snapped up Clive Platt, Mark Yeates, Luke Guttridge and Teddy Sheringham, and has now signed Crystal Palace defender Granville on a free transfer and Arsenal youngster Connolly on a season-long loan.
Teenage defender Connolly, who spent a spell on loan at Bournemouth last term, told Colchester's official website: "I've watched them a few times and they were outstanding and I'm looking forward to getting some games under my belt with them this season.
"I want to make sure that I learn from the rest of the squad and get used to Championship football as soon as possible.
"I've trained with the first team at Arsenal for a few years now and you learn in all of your training sessions, particularly up against players like Thierry Henry."
