U's bring in loanee O'Toole

Colchester United have signed Watford midfielder John Joe O'Toole on loan until the turn of the year.

The 20-year-old is the first signing made by new U's boss Aidy Boothroyd, who worked with O'Toole during his time in charge at Vicarage Road.

O'Toole told his new club's official website: "It gives me a chance to get playing again and get back out on the pitch to do my thing.

"I know him (Boothroyd) well and I know what he expects from me, so I am looking forward to the challenge.

"Colchester have a fantastic stadium and I am really impressed. It has been frustrating not playing, but this will be a great place to get up and running again."
