U's bring in Borrowdale

Colchester United have drafted in Coventry City left-back Gary Borrowdale on a month's loan to cover for the injured Matt Lockwood.

Lockwood is currently sidelined by a knee problem, with U's caretaker boss Kit Symons bringing in Borrowdale as his first signing for the club.

Symons had earlier told the East Anglian Daily Times: "There will be a couple of changes for the Tranmere game. I have my own ideas about the sort of team that I want and how things should be done.

"Everyone has their own opinions and I will implement a few changes. I hope to get a response from the players, for several different reasons.

"I'm not going to reinvent the wheel, just fine-tune some areas to try and make a big difference."

Borrowdale, 23, has yet to feature for the Sky Blues this season, having made 27 appearances in his first season at the Ricoh Arena.
