Colchester United manager Geraint Williams hailed the defensive display of his side despite the U's hammering Sheffield United 4-0 on Tuesday night.
Goals by Jamie Cureton, Greg Halford, Chris Iwelumo and Karl Duguid secured the points, and although Williams was delighted with the attacking display, he preferred to lavish praise on the all-round team performance.
"There are so many positives to come out of this game, not least keeping a clean sheet," he said.
"Although it's the goals that will take the headlines, I thought our defenders were just as effective and they worked hard right to the final whistle.
"In fact, Pat Baldwin has got stitches in his head following a challenge when we were already 4-0 up!
"I'll let the lads enjoy this night for a while. Although it was a 4-0 victory, it wasn't easy, and they are all shattered in the dressing room.
"However, all their hard work has been worthwhile."
