Tierney seals U's switch

Colchester United have completed the permanent signing of of-loan defender Marc Tierney.

Tierney, 23, has been on loan at the Weston Homes Community Stadium since the beginning of December from Shrewsbury Town and has made six appearances.

"He's been brilliant - absolutely terrific," said U's boss Paul Lambert.

"I think he is going to have a very big future in the game if he keeps going the way he is."
