Lisbie goes back to U's

Colchester United have re-signed striker Kevin Lisbie on a one-year loan deal.

The 30-year-old returns to the club from Ipswich Town, from where he left the U's for last summer.

Lisbie netted 17 times during a successful spell with Colchester.

"To come back here was my first choice. It's a good club and has good fans," he told the club's official website.

"I think I'll join straight in with the squad and hopefully get the club where it was (the Championship) when I was here before."

Lisbie spent 12 years at Charlton Athletic, before several loan moves away from The Valley culminated in a permanent switch to Layer Road in 2007.
