Iwelumo talks up U's

Colchester United striker Chris Iwelumo claims the U's are capable of ending their surprise season with a play-off place.

The U's were mentioned as possible relegation candidates last summer following their promotion to the Championship, but, after a superb season, the Essex side currently find themselves ninth in the table and just three points adrift of the final play-off place.

And Iwelumo, who has bagged 16 goals himself this term, believes the unfashionable side could reach the top-six with a strong finish to the season.

He said: "Our season is still very much alive. There's plenty to play for and I think we could still sneak into the play-offs.

"We're on our best run of the season and we've kicked on after our recent little blip."
