Colchester United have landed Leeds United defender Matt Heath on a permanent basis.
The 27-year-old impressed during a two-month loan stay at Layer Road in the season just ended, making five appearances for the U's.
The former Coventry City player made 59 appearances for Leeds, but fell out of favour when Gary McAllister replaced Dennis Wise as manager at Elland Road.
He had been an ever-present for the club until New Year's Day, but started only one League One match after that.
