Midfielder Dean Hammond believes the arrival of new manager Paul Lambert will provide the entire Colchester United squad with a much-needed lift.
The former Wycombe Wanderers boss and Celtic midfielder will be at the helm for the first time as the U's travel to Stockport County on Saturday.
United are currently 21st in the League One table and Hammond believes the arrival of a new boss is just what the squad needs.
He told The Gazette "With a new manager coming in, we want to show him what we can do.
"It happened to me a few times at Brighton. New managers come in and make their own decisions.
"I'm sure there will be a real buzz around the place ahead of the Stockport game."
