Guttridge seals U's switch

Colchester United have wrapped up their fourth signing of the week by snapping up free agent midfielder Luke Guttridge.

The 25-year-old left Leyton Orient at the end of last season following his move from the U's Essex neighbours Southend United in January.

Guttridge joins fellow new signings Teddy Sheringham, Clive Platt and Mark Yeates in manager Geraint Williams' new-look squad for next season.

The Barnstaple-born midfielder has made over 250 career appearances for four different clubs.

"He arrives at Layer Road despite interest from other clubs - including at Championship level," read a club statement.
