Colchester United goalkeeper Dean Gerken has hailed the impact made by assistant manager Kit Symons since his arrival at Layer Road.
Symons linked up with the U's just over a month ago and his arrival has coincided with a run of just one defeat in seven league games.
Gerken told the Gazette: "Kit's been brilliant for us. Since he's come in, I really think we're looking more solid as a back five.
"He's had a tremendous career as a centre-half, you only have to look at his career and realise that whatever he says, it will be a pearl of wisdom.
"We take in everything he says and absorb it and he's been fantastic for us."
