Coker earns Us deal

Colchester have handed Bury Town midfielder Ben Coker a contract at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.Coker impressed in a trial match for the U's reserves against Norwich last season and has done likewise during pre-season.A club statement said: "Having initially played for the U's reserves at the end of last season, Ben was invited back for pre-season and has spent the last three weeks training with the squad."And it has proven to be a successful spell on trial as Ben accepted John Ward's offer of a new contract and the paperwork was completed on Friday morning."The move will be completed subject to official clearance on the paperwork involved."
