Colchester United defender Wayne Brown has hailed the efforts of boss Geraint Williams since he took charge of the U's at the start of the season.
Williams took over following the exit of Phil Parkinson and has guided the U's to a surprise play-off challenge in their first season in the Championship.
Brown told the East Anglian Daily Press: "Geraint has proved his doubters wrong.
"Some people doubted whether he was the right man for the job, but he has proved to himself and everyone else that he is the right man.
"The players have always known how good he is as a coach, and we would walk through walls for him and we all want to play for him.
"He has always been tactically aware and like the rest of us, he's learnt a lot throughout the season."
