Jermaine Brown has decided to leave Colchester United after making just one first-team appearance for the club.

The 21-year-old former Arsenal trainee joined the U's in October after an impressive trial spell at Layer Road, but quickly grew frustrated by his lack of action.

U's boss Phil Parkinson told the club's official website: "Jermaine had become frustrated in his search for first-team football and has decided to move on.

"We currently have a number of strikers at the club and we have allowed Jermaine to go in order that he can find another team."

The striker's one outing for Colchester came as a substitute in the LDV Vans Trophy clash at Wycombe Wanderers, scoring the 120th minute winner in a 3-2 victory.
