Boothroyd lands loan duo

Colchester United have made a double move into the loan market to sign Barnsley striker Kayode Odejayi and Wolves defender Danny Batth.

Twenty-seven-year-old Odejayi has slipped down the pecking order at Oakwell and ended last season out on loan at Scunthorpe United.

Batth, 18, has yet to make his first-team bow at Molineaux.

U's boss Aidy Boothroyd told The Gazette: "We have known about Danny for quite a while.

"He's a young boy from Wolves and sometimes young players benefit enormously by coming out on loan."

U's chief executive Steve Bradshaw added: "Kayode will bring pace and power.

"He is a real handful for opposition defenders. The arrival of Kayode will add additional competition for places, which can only be a good thing."
