Blades handed U's test

Sheffield United's Championship season will kick-off with the visit of Colchester United to Bramall Lane on August 11. The Blades are still hoping to be reinstated to the Premier League at an arbitration panel hearing next week into the punishment meted out to West Ham over the Carlos Tevez saga. But should Bryan Robson's side not earn a reprieve on their relegation, they will host the U's, who finished tenth in the Championship last season. Elsewhere, fellow relegated side Charlton Athletic will host last year's League One champions Scunthorpe United, while Watford face a difficult trip to Molineux to take on Wolverhampton Wanderers. League One play-off winners Blackpool travel to Leicester City and newly-promoted Bristol City will host QPR at Ashton Gate. Remaining fixtures: Barnsley v Coventry City, Burnley v West Bromwich Albion, Cardiff City v Stoke City, Hull City v Plymouth Argyle, Ipswich Town v Sheffield Wednesday, Preston North End v Norwich City, Southampton v Crystal Palace.
