Ambitious U's bring in Beevers

Defender Lee Beevers is looking forward to playing in League One after completing his switch from Lincoln City to Colchester United.

The former Wales Under-21 international has been a regular in the Red Imps side for the last four seasons, featuring in almost 200 matches for the League Two side.

He told Colchester's official website: "It's a step up for me and something that I've been looking forward to for a long time.

"Playing in League Two last year means it's a step up a league from there and I can't wait for the challenge ahead.

"I played lots of games at full-back last season, despite normally being a centre-half, so I feel that I can adapt to any position."
