having been at Barnsley since 1999 the defender signed for Cardiff in a £600,000 deal in July 2002 . After a loan period at Stoke at the beginning of the 2004/2005 season it seemed he would leave the club , but he returned to Cardiff a month later and subsequently went on to cap a great season by being voted the Supporters Player of the Year
