Ward named new U's number two

Ward, who managed Carlisle until November last year, has left his post as assistant manager at cash-strapped Stockport to take up the role.[LNB]The 58-year-old started his career as assistant to Graham Taylor at Watford from 1982, and then followed Taylor to Aston Villa in 1987.[LNB]Since then, Ward has been the manager at York, Bristol Rovers, Bristol City, Cheltenham and Carlisle.[LNB][LNB]
