Ward lauds utility players

John Ward has hailed his utility players for their role in Colchester's unbeaten start to the season. Lloyd James and John White found themselves in unfamiliar positions during last weekend's goalless draw at Southampton following injuries to Marc Tierney and Pat Baldwin. "Credit to our squad, which is not the biggest at the moment, for dealing with those injuries," said manager Ward. "Lloyd James had to come on against his former club in a position he hasn't played in for us, while John White was moved about all over the pitch once again." Ward is hopeful Tierney and Baldwin will be fit to face Tranmere this weekend.
