Ward impressed with United display

Colchester manager John Ward felt his side`s 2-0 victory over Walsall was a good advertisement for League One football. David Perkins` 18-yarder and a penalty from David Mooney gave the Us a fourth straight home league win. Ward, who felt his team might have scored more goals, said: "It was a fantastic game of football and 3,500 people have enjoyed it. If you'd come to the game as a neutral, you'd have been pleased with League One football. "It was excellent for 90 minutes. It was big-hearted and there was loads of energy. It was a fast start and the teams were going at each other. "Credit to Walsall, they came to play and we'd fancied that they would. But if we'd have put another three or four goals away, I don't think that they could have complained about it. "We put in a really energised performance and my three substitutes made a difference, too. We know that we have to be a bit more clinical but that's a really harsh grumble from me."
