Colchester boss John Ward believes Carling Cup hero David Mooney will score goals for his side this season.
The 21-year-old loan signing from Reading hit a quickfire brace to set up a 3-0 win at Hereford before picking up an ankle injury.
Ward said: "I was sitting in the dugout saying to the lads on the bench we want to score the perfect goal and suddenly we practically did with the touch of Mooney.
"David is a strong finisher and I was told that he would get goals for us if we play him right and you can see why.
"David enjoyed his game but it's a pity he's got an ankle injury and could be doubtful for Saturday.
"But if we can get him back into this team there will be goals in him."
