Us to keep faith with Cousins

26 August 2010 13:30
Goalkeeper Mark Cousins will keep his place when Colchester host Carlisle on Friday night. Cousins' two errors gifted Darren Bent both goals in Sunderland's 2-0 Carling Cup win over the Us in midweek, and regular number one Ben Williams is close to fitness following an ankle injury. But manager John Ward has confirmed Cousins will be in goal against the Cumbrians. Full-back Marc Tierney returns after missing out at the Stadium of Light through illness and centre-half Paul Reid is close to fitness after a groin injury kept him out. Midfielder Kem Izzet came off with an ankle knock but has been passed fit. Simon Hackney (back) is doubtful and Steven Gillespie (ankle), John-Joe O'Toole and Morten Knudsen (both knee) are still out.
