U's keen to avoid Lisbie bidding war

Ipswich manager Roy Keane is taking up his option to recall the striker from his season-long loan at the Community Stadium in January with a view to selling him. But Lisbie, who joined Ipswich from Colchester for £600,000 in July last year, is thought to want to stay with the U's. "He is their player and that is part of the agreement," Cowling told the Green'Un. "But we like Kevin Lisbie a lot at this club and it's no surprise to me that he's raised interest. "We'll have to talk to Ipswich and see what we can do to keep him, but he's definitely a Championship-quality player and it will obviously be difficult for us to compete if there is a bidding war. "We tried very hard to keep him before so we'll just have to see how it unfolds."
