Trio have final chance
Colchester manager John Ward will make a final decision on three trialists this week.
Lloyd James, James Walker and Ben Coker have all been training with the Us and played in Saturday's 2-0 friendly win over Dover Athletic.
The trio will now be given one final chance to impress against Ryman League outfit Heybridge Swifts on Wednesday night.
Ward told the Gazette: "They've been with us for a couple of weeks so they've got used to the group and they've got used to what I'm after."
