Reid doubtful for Black Cats clash

Colchester could be without defender Paul Reid for the Carling Cup trip to Premier League Sunderland. Reid was forced out of the action during the second half of Saturday's 2-1 win at Rochdale after picking up a knock and was replaced by Pat Baldwin. Long-serving centre-back Baldwin is now in line to start at the Stadium of Light. Goalkeeper Ben Williams is back in training after an ankle injury but is unlikely to be risked so Mark Cousins should keep his place. Striker Steven Gillespie is still on the sidelines with the ankle he twisted in pre-season. Midfielder John-Joe O'Toole and defender Morten Knudsen remain long-term absentees with knee injuries.
