Payne finds net in reserves defeat
Payne returned for the U's after his parent club West Ham prevented him from playing in Saturday's 4-0 thumping of Bromley in the FA Cup.[LNB]But he was given an outing for United's second string and his spectacular left-footed volley was cancelled out by goals from Shaun Batt and Ben Wright.[LNB]Paul Reid and Pat Baldwin continued their return from knee injuries ahead of this weekend's home match with Exeter, while winger Anthony Wordsworth, who missed the Bromley game through suspension, also featured.[LNB][LNB]
