Midfielder: U's need a goalscorer
Winger Mark Yeates is Colchester's top scorer this season with 10 league goals while striker Steven Gillespie, the club's record signing from Cheltenham last summer, has suffered an injury-hit campaign.
"On our day, I think we are better than most teams in this division. We are just lacking in consistency," said Izzet.
"We've played most of the teams towards the top of the table over the last few weeks, and I don't think there is much to choose between them. They are all fairly equal.
"What stands them apart from the rest is that all the top six sides have got regular goalscorers. That makes a big difference."
