Lisbie earns Boothroyd plaudits

Lisbie netted from the spot either side of half-time and could even afford to miss a penalty earlier in the game, as the U's secured their first win under new manager Boothroyd.

Lisbie played in an unfamiliar right-midfield role for Colchester and Boothroyd hailed the on-loan Ipswich player's overall contribution.

Boothroyd said: "Kevin did a job for the team and he worked extremely hard.

"I wouldn't expect anything else from him but I thought he was terrific.

"You have to have the bottle to take a penalty in the first place and I had no doubts he would step up and take the second. I would have expected him to score and he did and his performance was excellent."
