Lambert hails resilient U's side

The Robins fought back twice through leading goalscorer Simon Cox and Hal Robson-Kanu after Clive Platt had twice put the U's ahead. However, Perkins scored with 18 minutes to go after the Swindon defence had failed to clear substitute Anthony Wordsworth's low cross to win the game. Boss Lambert was pleased with the persistence shown to claim victory and extend their unbeaten run to five matches. He said: "We could have had three or four goals early on and we had some great chances, but Swindon came back into the game strongly. "They are fighting for their lives and they had a really good result against MK Dons at the weekend. But our character and determination to come back into the game was absolutely first class. "I cannot fault the lads for grinding out the results. It's great to see the players running for us. The way we are playing at the minute is really, really pleasing. We see the same sort of thing on the training ground and we always try and play with the same intensity."
