Calvin Zola's second-half winner gave the Railwaymen victory and at the same time threw Colchester's play-off bid off track. Lambert said: "It was very disappointing. For the first 20-25 minutes we started great and looked confident. "But we only played for 20 minutes and I knew the way the game was going to go. "Crewe did well but it was up to us to break them down and we didn't do that. The former Wycombe boss added: "We only played for part of the game and we could have been playing until next week and still not scored."
