Heath stays with Us
Colchester defender Matt Heath has committed his immediate future to the club by signing a new one-year contract.
The 29-year-old former Leicester, Coventry and Leeds centre-back, whose would have been out of contract at the end of the season, has been a regular fixture in the Us line-up this season, making 29 appearances in all competitions.
Heath, who has made a total of 69 appearances for the club since his move from Leeds in 2008, becomes the first of a number of players offered new deals to confirm his stay at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.
He told the club's official website: "I'm very happy to be part of Colchester United for another year and I am looking forward to next season."
