Gillespie in the frame for Us start

Steven Gillespie could return to the starting line-up when Colchester travel to Bristol Rovers. The striker had scored four goals in his last six games but suffered a hamstring injury a fortnight ago. However, Gillespie returned as a substitute during the 2-1 defeat at Plymouth on Saturday and boss John Ward may now hand him a start. The Us are still without defenders Pat Baldwin (Achilles), Brian Wilson and Magnus Okuonghae (both ankle). Okuonghae is poised to have an operation on his ankle which will rule him out for the rest of the season. Midfielder John-Joe O'Toole is back in training after 10 months out with a cruciate injury but will not be risked just yet.
