Gillespie could be hamstrung again

Gillespie, the club's record signing, has been plagued by injury throughout pre-season and was forced off after 56 minutes of Saturday's 1-1 draw with Rushden & Diamonds. United boss Paul Lambert told the East Anglian Daily Times: "We are not sure if it is his hamstring or not yet, but it looks like the same problem as in Germany (where the club toured earlier in pre- season). "It is a worry as he is just back from injury, but we will see how he is." Lambert also revealed the club could be set to bolster their strikeforce ahead of the new campaign, adding: "We are still trying to bring in players and we are hoping to have an answer by Monday." Meanwhile, the U's are one of 16 clubs to have been handed a bye into the second round of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.
