Defender ruled out through injury

The former Barnsley centre-half was injured during the recent draw with Huddersfield, and a scan has confirmed a broken knee cap which will keep him out of the Us' play-off push. "It was a bit of shock to learn that I had broken the kneecap," Reid told the East Anglian Daily Times. "That's my season over, all of a sudden. I suppose it could have been a lot worse, but it's still frustrating not to be able to play a part during the run-in. "It's really a middle-of-the-road injury. I was hoping that it would just turn out to be bad bruising, and that I would be ready to play again in a couple of weeks. "But the scan revealed that I had a fractured kneecap. At least it isn't anything like cruciate-ligament damage, because that would have been very long-term."
