Cousins pleased with start

Colchester goalkeeper Mark Cousins is enjoying life under new boss John Ward. The Us have made their best start to a league campaign in 28 years after Ward replaced Aidy Boothroyd at the helm in the summer. Cousins has held off the challenge of last season's player of the year Ben Williams to keep his place in the first team and made a string of fine saves as Colchester secured a goalless draw at Southampton on Saturday. "Last season we were quite direct under Aidy Boothroyd," he said. "But under John Ward we try to get the ball down and make it more entertaining for the fans."
