U's duo pushing to return

Drey Wright and Josh Thompson could be pushing for a return to first-team duty for Colchester when Peterborough visit after featuring for the Under-21s at Crystal Palace on Tuesday.

Midfielder Wright is on the way back after sustaining a knee injury on the opening day of the season and defender Thompson suffered a hamstring strain during the warm-up at Charlton.

Meanwhile, manager Joe Dunne insists he will not put too much pressure on George Moncur after an impressive start to his loan spell from West Ham.

Moncur was replaced after 71 minutes of last weekend's fourth straight defeat against Doncaster and Dunne admitted: "George played three games in a week. He was dead on his feet. One thing I am not going to do is run the kid into the ground."

Peterborough's options are boosted by the addition of at least four players.

Full-back Kgosi Ntlhe, central defender Gaby Zakuani (hamstring) and on-loan Tottenham winger Kenny McEvoy (foot) are all fit again after injury while forward Marcus Maddison will go straight into the squad following his arrival this week from Gateshead.

Centre-half Michael Bostwick also missed last Saturday's win at Bradford through injury and he is rated 50-50 for this weekend.

Winger Jon Taylor's persistent knee injury means he will also be checked ahead of the trip to Essex.
