Watt worry for U's

Colchester are monitoring Sanchez Watt ahead of the visit of Peterborough in the Capital One Cup.

Forward Watt, a summer signing from Arsenal, was the only player to miss Saturday's 1-0 victory at Gillingham due to a leg injury.

But he will hope to be in contention to face Posh as the U's aim to make the second round of the League Cup for the first time in three seasons.

Midfielder Andy Bond stepped off the bench at Priestfield to bag a last-gasp winner and has firmly put himself in contention to start.

Manager Darren Ferguson is expected to name an unchanged team.

Picking the same XI that got Posh off to a winning start against Swindon on Saturday in their opening gameof the League One campaign would see big summer signing Jack Payne among the substitutes again.

Ferguson also left senior players Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, Kane Ferdinand, Shaun Brisley and Joe Newell out of his squad altogether for the 1-0 victory over the Robins.

!I am not someone who tends to rotate players, particularly so early on in the season," Ferguson told reporters. "The players trained well on Monday and are feeling fit so there is no real reason to change the team based on fitness. I will field my strongest side at Colchester, I won't be leaving anyone out to give them a rest."
