Duo struggling for Colchester

Freddie Sears and Gavin Massey are back in the treatment room ahead of Colchester's home clash against MK Dons.

The attacking pair were making their first starts in a month in Saturday's 1-1 draw at Preston but both were forced off nursing recurrences of their respective hamstring injuries and will miss the Dons' visit.

Midfielder Craig Eastmond returns from his one-match suspension and is back in the fold to boost the U's as they look to improve upon a run of just one win in 17 matches.

Long-term absentees Sanchez Watt (thigh), Josh Thompson (ankle) and Drey Wright (knee) all remain on the sidelines.

Manager Karl Robinson has hinted at changes to his MK Dons team.

Midfielder Ben Reeves is one player who will be hoping to force his way into the side after impressing from the bench against Bradford on Saturday, while George Baldock, Jon Otsemobor, Alan Smith, Samir Carruthers and Jason Banton will also be eager for a start.

Jordan Spence is likely to keep his place in the starting XI after the Dons extended the defender's loan from West Ham until the new year.

Dons boss Karl Robinson is not expecting to have any of his injured quartet back in time for Tuesday night. Goalkeeper David Martin (calf) and Luke Chadwick (foot) both missed the defeat to Bradford while defender Antony Kay (hip) and forward Dean Bowditch (hip) remain long-term absentees.
