Massey out for U's

Colchester striker Gavin Massey will play no part at home to Crawley having been ruled out for around a month.

Massey made his return from a hamstring injury as a second-half substitute in last Saturday's 2-2 draw at Bradford but only aggravated the problem and now faces an extended spell on the sidelines.

Sanchez Watt remains out with his thigh problem while fellow forward Freddie Sears, who has struggled of late with a groin complaint, is again likely to start on the bench.

Influential defender Magnus Okuonghae completes his suspension and Daniel Pappoe starts a three-match ban of his own.

Gary Alexander is still missing from the Crawley squad.

The veteran striker serves the second game of a three-match ban after he was sent off against Gillingham a fortnight ago.

Billy Clarke and Jamie Proctor started in attack in the 1-1 draw against Shrewsbury last weekend but Emile Sinclair, the recent signing from Peterborough, is in contention for a full debut after a lively appearance as a substitute.

Boss Richie Barker will check on winger Luke Rooney, who has returned to training after an illness ruled him out against the Shrews.
