Magnus keen to return

Defender Magnus Okuonghae will be hoping to return to the starting line-up in Colchester's home clash with Chesterfield.

The U's skipper was an unused substitute in Saturday's 1-1 draw at Scunthorpe having completed a four-game suspension.

Rhys Healey and Sammie Szmodics came on at Glanford Park and will also hope for more prominent roles, but Dan Holman, back at the club from a loan spell at Wrexham, will not make the squad.

Defender David Wright remains sidelined with a thigh injury sustained in training.

Chesterfield have a full squad available as they look for a first away win since the end of August.

Spireites boss Paul Cook is unlikely to make many changes but he does have plenty of options at his disposal, especially in attacking positions, should he wish to freshen up his starting line-up.

Dan Gardner, Jay O'Shea, Romuald Boco and Ollie Banks will all be hoping for recalls, while Carl Lamb could get a place on the bench as back up for 15-goal striker Eoin Doyle.

Defenders Sam Hird (knee) and Drew Talbot (groin) are making progress in their recoveries and it is hoped they could both be back in first-team contention during the early part of November.
