Sears to miss out again

Freddie Sears could miss out again when Colchester take on Bristol City.

The former West Ham striker missed the midweek victory over Shrewsbury with a hamstring problem and his fitness will be assessed ahead of kick-off.

Leading goalscorer Jabo Ibehre has returned to action in the last week and the U's will be hoping for a repeat of his match-winning performance on Tuesday.

Changes are unlikely so Craig Eastmond and David Wright may have to settle for a place on the bench once more.

Bristol City will again be without Bobby Reid for the clash.

The 21-year-old midfielder is suffering with a knee injury which has sidelined him since March 1 and he will miss out once more along with goalkeeper Simon Moore who continues to suffer with a groin problem.

Manager Steve Cotterill is also without Aden Flint who has undergone an operation on his dislocated knee and is unlikely to play again this season and fellow defender Adam El-Abd who serves the second match of his three-game ban.

Martin Paterson arrived on loan from Huddersfield in the build-up to their 0-0 draw against Swindon but his lack of regular first-team football means he may have to settle for a place on the bench again.
