Colchester United have signed defender Lee Beevers on a free transfer from League Two side Lincoln City. The 25-year-old, who started his career at Ipswich, has agreed a two-year contract and will officially become a U's player on 1 July. Beevers, who was Lincoln's longest-serving player, turned down a new deal. The U's have also been boosted by Republic of Ireland international full-back Alan Maybury's decision to sign a new deal with the club.
