Boothroyd: We thought it was easy

Substitute Clive Platt looked to have set the Us on their way by bagging the opener two minutes after coming off the bench, however Ben Marshall's 68th-minute equaliser and Jason Price's strike on his debut saw the visitors come away empty-handed.[LNB]Carlisle had gone down to 10 men following Tom Taiwo's first-half red-card, however Bothroyd's men were unable to take advantage of the extra man - leading the United boss to blast his players for letting their lead slip.[LNB]He said: "In the last 25 minutes we took it too lightly and allowed them back into the game. Gaining promotion is not easy and we were not consistent. With the quality of players at my disposal I've no idea how we conceded two goals to 10 men after going one up.[LNB]"My gut feeling is we thought it was too easy. It was schoolboy stuff. Their manager will talk about character but we gave them it, simple as that. We were amateur in what we did.[LNB]"We've got here because we're a good side and that was not acceptable. We took our foot off the pedal thinking we had it won."[LNB][LNB]
