Balanta denies super U's

Substitute Angelo Balanta's superb solo goal earned MK Dons their first point in three games in a 1-1 against Colchester. Balanta curled home from long range in the 66th minute to cancel out Magnus Okuonghae's first-half opener for the U's, who remain unbeaten in League One. Colchester tore the Dons to shreds in a scintillating first-half display and Anthony Wordsworth missed an early sitter when he slotted Ashley Vincent's pin-point low cross wide from five yards before Okuonghae finally put the Us ahead on 25 minutes. Wordsworth's corner kick fizzed through a crowded box and Okuonghae ran onto it to drill a fierce first-time shot low past keeper David Martin from 15 yards. The Dons seized control after the break and Danny Woodards' close-range flick was blocked on the goal-line by Andy Bond, while Dean Lewington headed wide from nine yards. Vincent almost doubled Colchester's lead when he lashed a 25-yard shot against the crossbar, but Balanta equalised for the Dons when he ran at Us full-back John White and curled the ball past goalkeeper Mark Cousins from 22 yards.
